Accessibility

New Lanark Visitor Centre welcomes everyone. However, the location of the historic Village in a steep-sided valley beside the Falls of Clyde, though picturesque, is not ideal terrain for wheelchair-users and visitors with limited or restricted mobility. Visitor Car Park Information

Day visitors are required to park in the main visitor car park located at the top of the hill. The parking charge is £3 per day.

Please note that the car park is managed by a third-party company and not by New Lanark.

Important Information – Please Read:

  • Best method of payment: We strongly recommend paying by cash at the on-site parking machine to avoid any issues.

  • Card and app payments (e.g., RingGo) may be unreliable on site due to limited mobile signal.

If you experience issues paying while at New Lanark, you can still pay later via the RingGo app or by phone.

⚠️ You have up to 48 hours after your visit to make the payment.

  • To pay after your visit:

    • Use the RingGo app, or

    • Call RingGo and provide the site location code listed on the signage in the car park.

As long as payment is completed within 48 hours, you will not receive a penalty notice.

To avoid inconvenience, we still encourage all visitors to bring coins for the parking machine where possible.

If you believe you have received a parking charge in error, please follow the formal appeals process detailed on the notice, or contact the car park operator directly at: solutions@bransbywilson.co.uk or call 01904 672 600.
