DISCOVERY TOURS
These tours will explore the key areas of the site and provide an engaging and
thought-provoking experience for learners – with frequent questions which involve learners in the tour and engage them with the historical space.

HISTORIC CLASSROOM
Led by a costumed facilitator, our immersive classroom sessions allow learners to experience what a New Lanark school day was like in the 1820s. This session takes place in our reconstructed historic classroom where learners write with authentic slates, try out a marching drill, and compare their experience to modern day schooling.
- Group size: Up to 35.
- Most suitable for P4-7.
- Duration: 1 hour
- Curriculum: Soc1.04a/2.04a
SCOTLAND AND THE SLAVE TRADE SESSION
Take part in our enquiry-based team challenge looking at old documents and objects to explore the role Scots played in the transatlantic slave trade.
- Suitable for P6/7 only.
- Duration: 90 mins
- Curriculum: Soc 2.01a, Soc 2.03a, Soc 2.04a
