Remembrance Sunday Service
This Remembrance Sunday (8th November), we invite guests, visitors and members of the local community to gather at the Memorial War Garden at New Lanark as we come together to honour and remember those who gave their lives in service.
At 11:00am, the village bell will ring to mark the start of a short remembrance ceremony.
The service will include:
- Wreath laying at the memorial garden
- Attendance by members of the New Lanark Village Group and local councillors
- A period of silent reflection and remembrance
- An opportunity for visitors and the community to pay their respects
Following the ceremony, visitors are also invited to join a free Soldiers of New Lanark Tour, departing from the Visitor Centre at 11:15am and finishing at 12:00pm.
The tour will explore the stories of New Lanark residents who served during times of conflict and offer a deeper insight into the village’s military heritage. No booking is required. Simply arrive at the Visitor Centre before departure.
If you are visiting or staying with us on Remembrance Sunday, we encourage you to take a moment to join us in reflection and remembrance.
Lest we forget.
