Copper Foil Glass Workshops

Stephanie Whatley from Biggar Glass Works returns for two further workshops to make intricate stained glass designs. These courses gives you the basics of copper foil work. Over the course of the day you will learn how to cut, grind, foil glass and solder it together. After this day session you will have acquired all the knowledge to start this hobby independently if you wish to.

You will have an understanding of the tools, the process and information where to buy material and find resources to improve as well as an health and safety awareness in regards to working with lead, glass and other chemicals. Held in the River Room at New Lanark World Heritage Site.  If you wear glasses, please bring them. Please wear sensible shoes and clothing that you do not mind getting a little bit dirty. No open toed sandals or similar footwear. Aprons will be provided.

Most of the workshop is planned to be carried out standing up due to a combination of room space, tool requirements and worktop heights. Please let us know in advance if this is a problem since we are able to adjust to other requirements with some notice.
