Easter Holidays at New Lanark

We are open daily throughout the local Easter Holidays (30th March - 15th April) and have a range of activities for all ages including Creative Workshops, Daily Tours and our ARTIST TEXTILES fashion trail.

 

Easter Holiday Daily Activities

New Lanark Visitor Attraction (10am - 5pm)
Discover the amazing history of New Lanark in our award-winning Visitor Attraction! Play with historic toys in the School (30th March - 2nd April only), snap a selfie on the Roof Garden, Dress up in Robert Owen’s House and lots more. Tickets available at the Institute Reception Desk.

'Story of New Lanark' Guided Tour
Find out about the key historical milestones on the village’s timeline that helped shape it into the UNESCO World Heritage Site it is today! Included in a Visitor Attraction ticket. Tours last approx 45 minutes. Tours will be leaving from the Institute at 11.10am and 2pm daily.

Easter Crafts & ARTIST TEXTILES activities
Drop-in daily until Sunday 8th April, 10am-5pm (last entry 4pm)
Have fun making a stained glass window Easter Egg and colour-in an egg-cellent Easter headband! Be inspired by ARTIST TEXTILES to design and draw your own amazing printed clothes. Also explore the fabric sensory box and dress up in some stylish prints! Taking place in the River Room. £4 per child (Adults & Under 2s free). Tickets available at the Institute Reception Desk. Participants in the Easter activities can receive £3 off tickets to the ARTIST TEXTILES exhibition (read more below).

  • Make your own Stain Glass Easter Egg & colour-in a Easter Head Band
  • Artist Textiles Feely Boxes, Dressing Up Box, Stamping, Colouring-In & Paper Doll Dresses


Interactive Gallery Soft Play Area (10am*-5pm)
Explore a multi-sensory experience of sound, light and colour. Situated in Robert Owen's School for Children, The Interactive Gallery is a 21st century playroom which reflects Owen's progressive ideas of infant education with the themes of environment, art and music.Entry to the Interactive Gallery is £3.25 per child and valid only on date of purchase. This price allows play for up to 2 hours. Under 1's go free. The Interactive Gallery is most suitable for children aged 7 and under.
*On 3rd,5th,10th & 12th of April the Interactive Gallery will open at 11am as 'Magic Cloak' Sessions are taking place. (see details below for booking)


ARTIST TEXTILES Picasso to Warhol (10am-5pm)
Inspire your budding designers by visiting this stunning exhibition with prints of work by famous artists such as Picasso, Warhol and Dali! Pick up one of our family-friendly Exhibition Trails and earn an ‘Artist in training’ badge. (Show your Easter Craft Activity ticket at the Exhibition Gallery Reception Desk to receive £3 off exhibition tickets)

The Magic Cloak Sensory & Song Sessions

Help our time-traveller repair their magic cloak so they can go back in time to meet Robert Owen! Discover fabrics like soft silk and warm wool, explore where they come from and sing songs to help join up the pieces and make the cloak magic again!
